Stage Lighting and Video Work from 2013

2013 was a great year for my video and Lighting work . I was fortunate enough to work with Sarah Jaffe at Dallas City Performance Hall as her lighting and video designer. I also designed for the band Ishi and had many great shows including shows at the Perot Museum and The Granada in Dallas. Lighting up the Art Con stage this year gave me a great chance to experiment and cut loose. This year I also worked with fashion designer Yasmina Johnson for her fashion show at Kirk Hopper Fine Art. And once a month I am the set and lighting designer for The Ruby Revue Burlesque Show. Hope you enjoy the photos most of them are marked with the appropriate photographer appologies to those that didn't . Special thanks to photographers Dylan Hollingsworth , Karlos X. Ramos, Hal Samples and Jarrod Fresquez for being there to capture the action.

Confetti Eddie's Strip Basket Illusion

This is my version of the classic Hindu Sword Basket Illusion. The magician hypnotizes his assistant then vanishes her into a basket . Next he places four swords and one staff into the basket . Is his assistant ok ? We'll see ... as the magician pulls out the swords , pieces of her costume comes with it. The magician eager to see his bare assistant opens the basket but finds it empty . To prove she's vanished the magician steps into the basket .Where has she gone? With a wave of the hand, magically she reappears for a surprise ending. Magic at the Dallas Burlesque Festival #5 2013

Getting back into magic has been so much fun ! Having the opportunity to perform stage Illusions is a dream come true ! Right Now I am researching classic Illusions and re-vamping them with a touch of burlesque. My latest Illusion is a classic known as the Mismade Lady .

The Mismade Lady has it's origins from an older Illusion known as the stacked box .Where boxes are stacked and your lovely assistant appears. The idea to mismake the lady came much later by an american Illusionist named Chuck Jones. Since then it has become a classic in magic and I am fortunate to be able to perform it and hopefully add my own personality to the Illusion.

Thank You Dallas Burlesque Festival. If you'd like to see more photos from the dallas burlesque festival click here or here .
